PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance driving stability while maintaining high speed durability. SOLUTION: A tire for motorcycle 1 includes: a carcass 6 extending from a tread portion 2 through a side wall 3 to a bead core 5 in a bead portion 4; and a tread reinforcing cord layer 7 arranged outside of this carcass 6 in the tire radial direction and inside the tread portion 2. The tread reinforcing cord layer 7 is constituted of: a shoulder reinforcing layer 11 covering only both end portions of the tread portion 2 and comprising a pair of cut plies 11A, 11B having reinforcing cords 11c, 11d slanted at anglesα1,α2 of 15-40°, respectively, with respect to the tire circumferential direction; and a band layer 12 comprising a jointless ply 12A arranged on the outside of this shoulder reinforcing layer 11 in the tire radial direction and across a substantially full width of the tread portion 2, and formed by helically winding one or plurality of reinforcing cords 12c covered with rubber at an angle of not more than 10°with respect to the tire circumferential direction.
