<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a singlet oxygen scavenger containing a carotenoid as an active ingredient and having a more improved effect thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The singlet oxygen scavenger includes (A) crocetin and (B) xanthophyll as active ingredients in a molar ratio (A)/(B) of (A) and (B) of 0.4-20.
