PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor and information processing method for increasing processing speed, in the information processor for executing graphics drawing and video encoding or transcoding in parallel. SOLUTION: A first processing unit to be executed first in video encoding or transcoding is executed by a parallel data processing part and a general data processing part. The time when the parallel data processing part terminates the first processing unit is compared with the time when the general data processing part terminates the first processing unit. Whether the parallel data processing part or the general data processing part is used to execute the second and subsequent processing units after the first processing unit, is determined.
