PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for controlling insect pests exhibiting an advantageous effect quickly to the insect pests such as mosquito, only by installing it in a habitat and/or an invading place of the insect pests at room temperature. SOLUTION: This tool for controlling the insect pests 1 includes a medicine-holding body 2 and form-supporting body 3. The medicine-holding body 2 is a net formed by a resin containing an ester compound expressed by formula (1) [wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is H or the like; R<SP>2</SP>is a group expressed as a methyl group or the like; and R<SP>3</SP>is H, methyl or methoxymethyl]. The medicine-holding body 2 is provided by being formed as a whole a cylindrical form, having a form of annularly surrounded by a net 5 and having a penetrating hole 6 in its axial direction in its inside.
