<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a splice junction part capable of preventing a remarkable loss between an optical fiber having microstructure and a conventional type optical fiber. <P>SOLUTION: A carbon coating 21 is applied onto an end part 15 of the first micro-structured optical fiber 1, the end part of the first micro-structured optical fiber is grounded, the end parts of the both optical fibers are aligned with an opposed relation, to bring an optical axis of the first micro-structured optical fiber into the same axis with an optical axis of the second optical fiber 3, the first arc 23 is generated from an electrically operated fusion connection machine 18, the end parts of the both optical fibers are exposed to the first arc for the first period, the end part of the first micro-structured optical fiber is brought into contact with the end part of the second optical fiber, to form the junction part, and the junction part is exposed to the second arc for the second period longer than the first period, to form an optical coupling part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
