PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge control method of a lithium ion battery for correctly detecting a voltage median at the time of charging from an external power supply. SOLUTION: The lithium ion battery is mounted on a vehicle and can be charged from an external power supply as well as from a motor while a vehicle is travelling. The charge control method of the lithium ion battery includes: determining whether the external power supply is connected and ready for charging a charger (S01). If the external power supply is connected and ready for charging, the frequency of the external power supply is detected (S03). The sampling rate of charge voltage applied to the lithium ion battery is decided according to the detected frequency (S05). The charge voltage is measured according to the decided sampling rate (S11).
