PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a line printer which can ensure highly precise high speed printing at a low cost by reducing the conveyance error as much as possible. SOLUTION: The printer includes a first acquisition means for acquiring the rotation information of a rotary roller, and a second acquisition means for acquiring the movement information of a medium by detecting the surface of the medium and performing the signal processing thereof. For at least one revolution of the rotary roller, the information acquired by the first acquisition means and the information acquired by the second acquisition means are matched and stored, as the correction data, in a memory. The rotation information is acquired by the first acquisition means, the correction data corresponding to the rotation information thus acquired is read out from the memory in order to correct the recording timing of the line type print head, and then printing is performed.
