PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axially moving device, capable of raising and lowering a hook part hooking a spare tire carrier and preventing a cylindrical part from falling from the lower end of a shaft part. SOLUTION: In the axially moving device 33, a female thread 62 of the cylindrical part 44 is screwed to a male thread 51 of the shaft part 42. A stopper part 46 is provided at an end portion 43 of the shaft part. The stopper part has a plurality of locking claws 68 capable of engagingly locking with a shaft recessed portion 49 formed on the outer circumferential surface of the end portion. The plurality of locking claws has a sectionally tapered portion 69 by forming an outwardly inclined portion 68c on the outer part. Accordingly, a lower end portion 63 of the cylindrical part can abut on the outwardly inclined portion 68c while fitting the inner circumferential surface 61 of the cylindrical part to the sectionally tapered portion.
