Modular weighing platform with indexing to align a number of support modules within it

A modular support base (10) to be used as an animal weighing platform is disclosed. This system provides a weighing platform for animals that may be easily transported from site to site. The support base (10) transfers the weight of an animal or animals standing on it to a weighing device such as a load cell to determine the weight of the animal or animals. The weighing device is positioned beneath the support base to connect the support base to a ground surface. In one embodiment the support base (10) is constructed from beams (13) connected at each end by rungs. The surface that the animals stand on is then assembled from modules (11) placed inside the base (10) and supported by support rungs (12) which also index and align the modules (11) with the support (10). In another embodiment the modules (11) span the beams (13) and are indexed by slots on either side of the bottom surface, into which the beams (13) fit.
