Methylphenidate derivatives and uses of them

Disclosed is the use of methylphenidate derivatives of formula (I), wherein the substituents are disclosed in the specification, for the manufacture of a medicament for treating proliferative disorders or diseases such as cancer, mesangial cell proliferation disorder, fibrotic disorder, skin disorder, an angiogenic disease or a neoplastic disease. Also disclosed is the methylphenidate compound of formula (I) wherein n is 1, OR7 is aryl and R2 is methyl.
