The method involves providing a cylinder head (CH) with a valve guide (GU) and a valve seat (VS) in a rough state. A conical grinding surface (GS) is positioned coaxially with respect to the valve guide. The conical grinding surface is applied to the valve seat in the rough state and is rotated to remove a surface part of the valve seat. A guiding point (PP), which is placed coaxially with respect to the grinding surface, is introduced into the guide, and a lubricating liquid is applied to the guiding point during positioning of the grinding surface with respect to the guide. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a tool for obtaining a cylinder head of a valve engine, comprising a conical grinding surface (2) a computer program including program code instructions to implement a method for obtaining the cylinder head of the valve engine.
