<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the strength of a resin intake manifold 2 disposed at a front side of a transversally-installed engine body 1, and to secure a crash stroke by appropriately destroying the intake manifold 2 when an external load is applied from a vehicle front side. <P>SOLUTION: The intake manifold 2 is formed by overlapping and welding a front surface side and a rear surface side of each of three divided bodies 11-13. The first divided body 11 near the engine body 1 has high stiffness in a vehicle longitudinal direction as compared to other divided bodies 12, 13. A bent section of a branch passage 4 is formed of the second divided body 12 and the third divided body 13. The second divided body 12 at a middle is provided with rib structures 12c, 12d which extends to the rear side from the front side in the vehicle longitudinal direction in the bent section of the branch passage 4, and of which the front and rear both ends become stress concentration points when the external load is applied from the vehicle front side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
