<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphor which can emit light of a specified color at high luminance and can improve the luminance and rendering properties of mixed light constituted by being mixed with another light. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided the phosphor which contains in a matrix crystal, at least one element selected from the alkaline earth metal elements, silicon, and a halogen element and is light-emittable by absorbing the light in a blue region, wherein the compositional formula of the phosphor is represented by (M<SB>1-y</SB>Eu<SB>y</SB>)<SB>x</SB>Si<SB>2</SB>O<SB>a</SB>X<SB>b</SB>(wherein M is at least one member selected from the group consisting of Ca, Sr, and Ba; X is at least one member selected from the group consisting of F, Cl, Br, and I; 4.8≤x≤5.2; 0.02<y<0.2; a=x+4-b/2; and 2.2≤b≤3.0). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
