<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hinge for eyeglasses that allows a temple to be smoothly opened or closed with a simple configuration, thus gives soft feeling and a good comfort. <P>SOLUTION: When a user wears the eyeglasses, the temple 3 receives outward force by rotating further outward from the position where a protrusion 8 of the inner hinge 4 of the temple 3 abuts on the peak 10 of the outer hinge 2 of a joint 1. The locking part 13 of an elastic plate 5 receives pressure applied by a pin 9 of the inner hinge 4 of the temple 3. On the other hand, since the flat end 14 of the elastic plate 5 is locked at the peak 10 of the outer hinge 2, the elastic plate 5 is deformed so as to swell outward.
