PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an organopolysiloxane having a polyether-modified group bonded to a silicon atom through an Si-O-C bond using a safe and simple method with high purity and good efficiency. SOLUTION: In the method for producing a polyether-modified organopolysiloxane, (a) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane is reacted with (b) a hydroxy-terminated polyoxyalkylene or a hydroxy-terminated polyglycerol in the presence of (c) a platinum-based catalyst and (d) an organic acid.
