PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure monitoring system which can collect measurement data obtained by sensors, without using a radio wave. SOLUTION: The structure monitoring system MS includes: sensors S, S, attached to a structure; a measuring instrument M attached to the structure; and a portable data collection device D. The measuring instrument M includes: a measuring side light receiving means 15 for receiving light to generate power; and a measuring side light emitting means 16 for converting the measurement data obtained by the sensors S into an optical signal. The data collection device D includes a collecting side light receiving means 22 for converting the optical signal transmitted from the measuring side light emitting means 16 to an electric signal. The measuring instrument M performs optical wireless communication with the data collection device D by use of the power generated by the measuring side light receiving means 15.
