PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately extract compressed data corresponding to a retrieval condition. SOLUTION: When compressing document data, the compression processing part 10a compresses the document data, by converting character strings included in the document data and break characters included in the document data into codes, separately. Since the compressed document data are compressed separately for the character strings and the segmentation characters, a retrieval processing part 10c obtains a proper retrieval result even if the compressed data is extracted as it is, on the basis of a retrieval expression.
