PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an interpretation doctor from failing to see diseases which are not the target of examination without using a communication system such as a network, when the interpretation doctor conducts interpretation for the purpose of a specific examination. SOLUTION: Without regard to the purpose of the interpretation by the interpretation doctor, a PACS (picture archiving and communication system) 30 determines the kind of automatic measurement processing on the basis of incidental information of medical image data, conducts the determined kind of automatic measurement processing of the image data, and generates numerical report information. Then, the PACS 30 stores the medical image data and the numerical report information in a medium 50. An interpretation terminal 40 reads the content of the medium 50. Then, when the numerical value of the examination in the numerical report information stored in the medium 50 is an abnormal value, the interpretation terminal 40 displays a warning to that effect.
