PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiving device which is capable of providing an analog broadcast having the same contents as a digital broadcast, while suppressing the sudden change in tone quality, when reception of the digital broadcast can no longer be carried out. SOLUTION: The broadcast receiver includes a digital broadcast tuner, an analog broadcast tuner, a digital signal processing part for outputting a MPEG audio signal, an analog signal processing part for outputting an FM/AM audio signal, an audio DSP for generating an output audio signal and a control part. The control part acquires the reception quality of a digital broadcast signal from the digital signal processing part and outputs the MPEG audio signal to the digital signal processing part, while stepwise increasing/reducing the number of output channels of the MPEG audio signal, on the basis of the reception quality and makes the audio DSP switch to the same FM/AM audio signal as the MPEG audio signal and outputs the FM/AM audio signal.
