PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To emulate an electric ejection in a recording and reproducing device having no electric ejection mechanism. SOLUTION: In an optical disk device 100 having no electric ejection mechanism, an optical disk is ejected by user's manual operation to open and close a cover. When an ejection command is received from a PC 120, an OK command is returned according thereto to emulate electric ejection and an LED 26 is made to blink to inform that ejection is required to a user.
