PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which has improved search performance for relevant images. SOLUTION: When a camera mode is selected, a CPU 26 detects a face pattern from image data recorded in a recording medium 42 and describes a file name of an image file for storing image data where the image pattern appears, and a frame number of the image data where the image pattern appears into a table TBL1 together with the face pattern. When reproduction mode is selected, the CPU 26 collates a face pattern appearing in reproduced image data, with face patterns on the table TBL1 and searches for another image data satisfying the match condition from the recording medium 42. The file name of an image file where found-out image data is stored and a frame number of the found-out image data are described in a table TBL2. In response to the operation of a decision key 28sel, the CPU 26 designates image data which complies with descriptions in the table TBL2, as an object to be reproduced.
