Cutting apparatus

A rotary blade (1) is disclosed and includes: a spacer (2); a substantially central aperture (3) within the spacer (2); and a number of blade sections (4) with cutting edges (6) extending from the spacer (2). The blade (1) is configured so that the cutting edges (6) of the blade (1) sections are positioned relative to each other so as to form a continuous cut. The blade (1) is characterised in that the trailing edge of a blade (1) section is separated from the leading edge of the preceding blade section (4) by a distance greater than the depth of the cut made by the blade section (4).
