PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that there is not any method for satisfactorily performing subtractive color processing in carrying out two-color printing or monochrome printing of a half-tone image stored in a storage device. SOLUTION: In a step S504, a K edition of image density value is calculated for every reference window size from a K edition of dot integral value by using a reference window whose size is equal to a K edition of dither threshold matrix size, and an image density value is calculated from a rate of the dot integral value in the reference window size to each edition of dither threshold matrix size about the residual CMY editions, and the mean value of each CMYK edition of image density values is determined as the image density value after monochrome conversion.
