PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber connector that aligns optical fibers mutually with high precision without removing a coating, and allows easy connection between the optical fibers and extraction of a desired optical fiber when optical fiber connectors are installed densely. SOLUTION: The optical fiber connector includes a plug and an adapter having an optical fiber-aligning part to align optical fibers face to face. The plug includes an optical fiber-gripping part, which includes a groove part, a lid part, and a clamper to press the lid part to the groove part and to grip an optical fiber. Each of the groove part and the lid part includes a fixed blade, which contacts with a glass part of the optical fiber through its coating, coaxially with the optical fiber. The clamper is constructed of a gripping part pressing the lid part to the groove part, and an extension part releasing fitting between a locking piece of the adapter and a locking hole of the plug.
