<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent recording media from sticking with each other when the recording media are ejected in a state in which a toner image is not sufficiently solidified. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 101 includes an image forming part 108 for forming a toner image on a recording medium, a fixing part 128 for heating/fixing the toner image on the recording medium, and a transporting part 118 for transporting the recording medium that has been fixed by the fixing part 128, and is capable of forming an image on both sides of the recording medium. The transporting part 118 is equipped with an ejection part 129 for ejecting/transporting the recording medium externally or inverting/transporting it to the upstream side of the image forming part 108.
