PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce characteristic variation between circuits which are arranged symmetrically with each other. SOLUTION: In a solid state image pickup device 70, a plurality of amplifier circuits arranged in parallel at an upper end side of a pixel region 20 provided at a center part are arranged symmetrically with a plurality of amplifier circuits arranged in parallel at a lower end side of the pixel region 20. The amplifier circuits comprise transistors having first and second fingers which are equal in gate length and arranged in parallel. A second finger has a channel length direction reverse to a channel direction of a first finger. Transistors of the amplifier circuits at the upper end side of the pixel region 20 have the same channel length directions with transistors of the amplifier circuits at the lower end side of the pixel region 20.
