PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method and an inspection device for a battery capable of accurately inspecting foreign bodies by removing periodic shading changes from a fluoroscopic image, upon inspection of foreign bodies of the battery with a wound electrode body on the basis of the fluoroscopic image. SOLUTION: The inspection method for a battery wherein the fluoroscopic image of the battery 2 is obtained by performing X-ray irradiation on the battery 2 with the wound electrode body 3 and foreign bodies of the wound electrode body 3 are inspected on the basis of the fluoroscopic image, has a process of removing from the fluoroscopic image a repetitive pattern, which is a shaded pattern periodically appearing on the fluoroscopic image originated in the wound electrode body 3.
