摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent pre-ignition at the time of warm start without causing smolder of a spark plug 16 in a relatively high compression ratio specification spark ignition type direct injection engine E. SOLUTION: If intake air temperature is not lower than prescribed temperature at the time of warm start of the engine E (step S3), fuel is injected in compression strokes of a cylinder C. At that time, an injector 14 is controlled based on, for example signal from a crank angle sensor 22 so as to keep both of ignition start timing and end timing at roughly fixed crank angles (SOI, EOI) even if engine speed fluctuates (S6-S9). When engine speed reaches a set value or intake air negative pressure gets not less than prescribed pressure, fuel injection is changed over to intake stroke injection (S4, 5).
