<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for efficiently supporting context switching in a GPU (graphics processing unit). <P>SOLUTION: The system and method are provided, which schedule processing of a coprocessor to thereby enable an application to submit a task to a scheduler and the scheduler to determine the amount of processing and the sequence of the processing in which each application is given qualifications. About this purpose, the task requiring processing can be stored in a physical memory or a virtual memory managed by a memory manager. There are provided various techniques for determining whether a specific task is ready for processing.
