<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch input device. <P>SOLUTION: The touch input device includes: an infrared light source module for emitting infrared light; a first polarizing plate; a stress sensing plate; a second polarizing plate; an infrared camera module; and an image processor. The first polarizing plate converts infrared light to first polarized light. The stress sensing plate generates internal stress by external force due to contact, and doubly refracts the first polarized light incident on the stress sensing plate where the internal stress is generated. The second polarizing plate has a polarizing direction orthogonal to that of the first polarizing plate. The infrared camera module images an interference stripe via the second polarizing plate. The image processor is connected to the infrared camera module, receives an image signal from the infrared camera module, and processes the image signal to detect a position and trajectory of contact on the stress sensing plate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
