PURPOSE: A flavanone derivative compound is provided to suppress MMP-9(matrix metalloproteinase-9) expression and use as a therapeutic agent of cancer. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating cancer contains 7-O-glucose-naringerin of chemical formula 1 or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. The pharmaceutical composition additionally contains pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The pharmaceutical composition is an agent for preventing or treating cancer cell metastasis. A food composition contains the 7-O-glucose-naringerin or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient.
