[Class 18.] A brush &c. and a holder for cosmetic material are independently pivoted between the sides of a case so that they can be swung out for use or moved into the case to close it. A case 1, Fig. 3, made from a metal stamping comprises side walls and a bottom and the cosmetic holder 7 and brush 15 are pivoted at or near the ends of the case at 9, 17 respectively. The cosmetic holder, Fig. 5, which is suitable to accommodate an eyebrow pencil &c. is of channel formation, and a cup 6 to hold the stick of cosmetic can slide in the holder, a manipulating lug 8 on the cup projecting through a slot in the holder. The brush is mounted in a channel-shaped carrier 16 pivoted at its mid-point between the sides of the case, and the opening movement of the brush is limited by a pin 70 which contacts with one end of the carrier 16. The holder 7 and carrier 16 are swung out into position for use by lifting up the projecting lips 14, 19 respectively. In the closed position, the holder and carrier lie in line with the lip 19 projecting over the end of the case which is then completely closed in. |
