The present invention relates to a fuel consumption monitoring system of a portable generator and a method therefor. Usage time of an electricity consuming device connected to at least one operation switch is calculated on the basis of sensing results on ON/OFF status of the corresponding operation switch that turns on/off at least one electricity consuming device exhibiting rated power consumption (Kw or W), the switch being operated by power supplied from the portable generator that exhibits rated generation capacity (Kw/l or W/l). Then power consumption of the corresponding electricity consuming device with respect to the calculated usage time is calculated. Next, a consumption flow rate of the portable generator, which is consumed to operate the corresponding electricity consuming device, with respect to the calculated power consumption is calculated and stored in a DB such that the consumption flow rate thus obtained can be provided to an information requester in a remote place and gets monitored, whenever needed, or in real time mode, or at predetermined specific time intervals. According to the present invention, it becomes possible to monitor individual consumption flow rates for one or more electricity consuming devices that are operated by power supplied from the portable generator, distinguishably from a consumption flow rate for a plurality of electricity consuming devices that are connected serially or parallely, whenever needed, or in real time mode, or at predetermined specific time intervals.
