<p>PURPOSE: A pickup device is provided to change the present mode to the first display mode if zoom magnification is under the predetermined zoom magnification and change the present mode to the second display mode if the zoom magnification is over the predetermined zoom magnification. CONSTITUTION: If a zoom switch(72) is operated, a system controller(50) starts electronic zoom processing. The system controller clips some part of an image of an image sensor(14) using an image processor(20). A compression/extension unit(32) records the compressed data to a recording medium as a still image after the compression of data. Based on the operation of the zoom switch, recording viewing angle is changed by the increase or decrease of the clipped area.</p> |
