The tool (10) has a tool head comprising a head element (16) that is moved relative to another head element under expansion of the tool head in a spatial direction (24) for undercut pressing of plates during operation of an operating device. The latter head element is designed as a lamella (20) running diagonal to the spatial direction, where the former head element has a cross-section tapered along the spatial direction. The head elements are connected with respective lever elements in a rotatable manner over a rotational axis, where the lever elements are connected with one another. An independent claim is also included for a method for form-fit connection of two overlapping plates.
