<p>Disclosed is an air cleaner equipped with an anion generating unit (11) that generates anions, a cation generating unit (12) that generates cations, a drive unit (14) that adjusts the space (D) between the ion generating units (11, 12), a wind velocity sensor (15) that detects the wind velocity at the location of the ion generating units (11, 12), and a micro computer (16) that controls the drive unit (14) on the basis of results detected by the wind velocity sensor (15) and sets the optimum value for the space (D) between the ion generating units (11, 12). Therefore, a high yield of ions is obtainable as a result of the space (D) between the ion generating units (11, 12) being set at an optimum value.</p> |
