METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REALIZING IDENTIFIER AND LOCATOR SEPARATION

A method and system for realizing identifier and locator separation are disclosed in the present invention. The method includes the following steps that: after receiving a first data packet from a sending side, a source gateway registers or updates the binding relationship between identifier and locator of the sending side by an Id-Loc- Mapping Functional Entity (ILM-FE); after receiving a response back from the LIM-FE, the source gateway packages the first data packet and sends the packaged data packet to a receiving side via a target gateway; after receiving data packets excepting the first data packet, the source gateway packages the data packets excepting the first data packet and sends the data packets to the receiving side via the target gateway. In the present invention, a completely new network-based IPSPLIT is constructed, thus identifier and locator separation in the NGN is realized.
