The invention relates to a method for automatically generating a user-specific measurement data registration regimen for a discontinuous blood sugar measurement comprising a blood sugar measuring device (6) in a data processing device which has a data input interface (1), a storage device (2), a processor (3) and a data output interface (4), wherein the method comprises the following steps: providing in the processor (3) progression data which indicate an expected progression of the blood sugar value of a user; generating user-specific measurement regimen data which indicate a measurement regimen comprising user-specific measurement events for a discontinuous blood sugar measurement conducted with a blood sugar measuring device, while taking into account the progression data by means of the processor (3); and providing the user-specific measurement regimen data at the data output interface (4) for a data transfer. The invention further relates to a data processing device for generating a user-specific measurement data capturing regimen for a discontinuous blood sugar measurement conducted with a blood sugar measuring device, to a blood sugar measuring device comprising a data processing device, and to a computer program product comprising a program code which is optionally stored on a computer-readable storage medium.
