The invention relates to method for manufacturing a threaded cylinder (2) composed of essentially paper material with an internal cylinder face and an external cylinder face, the cylinder comprising a continuous or interrupted thread (4), which protrudes out from one of the internal cylinder face and the external cylinder face and that against the other of the internal cylinder face and the external cylinder face a flat layer of material (7) is applied to adhered over at least part of the face.
