Disclosed is a method for detecting a target cell involving: a step for obtaining a measurement result (1) by optically and electro-magnetically measuring (hereinafter referred to as "test measurement") a dispersion liquid containing a cell to be examined, and particles (hereinafter referred to as "marker particles"), fixed onto which is a material that specifically bonds with a specific molecule that is present on the surface of the cell; a step for obtaining a measurement result (2) by measuring, by means of the same process as the test measurement, a dispersion liquid containing the cell to be examined but not the marker particles; and a step for comparing the two measurement results (1 and 2).
