This invention enables one to avoid a problem of a temporary significant reduction of the writing speed that occurs when an access device writes all data of a block into a unit having a size smaller than the block. In a memory controller (110) of a nonvolatile memory device (100), an interface unit (101) receives a first command which identifies a first writing range for writing data, and a second command which identifies a second writing range which is a part of the first writing range and instructs data writing to the second writing range. An address management unit (106) selects a new block for writing data to the first writing range on the basis of the first command prior to writing data to the nonvolatile memory. A read/write control unit (103) records data to a new block in response to the second command.
