The present invention provides a method and system for implementing interconnection between Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPV4) network and new network, and the new network adopts an addressing format different from the IPV4 network. The method includes the step that the IPV4 network host sends a message to the new network host and the step that the new network host sends a message to the IPV4 network host. The system includes the IPV4 network host, an interconnection function unit and the new network host. The present invention also provides a method for implementing interconnection between the first network and the second network. By adopting the mode of IPV4 address multiplexing, the present invention distributes a compatible format address to the new network host for making the new network host interconnect the IPV4 network, the compatible format address includes IPV4 format address and port number, and routing in the IPV4 network can be implemented in virtue of the IPV4 address, thus implementing the interconnection and simultaneously resolving the problem of lack of the IPV4 address. Additionally, it can be implemented that the primary IPV4 application program is compatible in the new network host as long as upgrading the protocol stack of the new network host. |
