The system has a heat accumulator (2) that is provided with a solid particle (20) in a flow direction before a buffer memory (32) and after a distributor (34). The heat accumulator is connected to a fuel gas control system (1), and fuel gas (10) is guided from a burner (60) through a fuel gas line (101) in the flow direction before and after the solid particle entering into the heat accumulator and a fire-place (12), respectively. The fuel gas control system is connected at a combustion chamber (61) of the burner of a heating system (6). An independent claim is also included for a method for heating hot water and/or domestic water in a residential building.
