The present invention provides a toner which has enhanced high temperature storage stability and which prevents the degradation of the charging properties thereof caused by moisture absorption. The toner has a particle volume mean diameter within the range of 2 to 10µm, and an 80% span value of 0.9 or less, and comprises a binder resin and a colorant. The binder resin is a sulfonic acid group-free polyester resin having a weight-average molecular weight of 6,000 to 100,000, a glass transition temperature of 55°C to 70°C, and a polydipersity index (Mw/Mn) of 3 to 25.
