WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

This object aims to reduce wireless communication volume so as to improve communication quality.  A wireless communication system (1) is provided with a relay station (10), a first wireless base station (20), a second wireless base station (30), a gateway device (40) and a mobile station (2).  The gateway device (40) is connected by a wire with the first wireless base station (20) and the second wireless base station (30) and the first wireless base station (20) is connected by a wire with the second wireless base station (30).  The relay station (10) is connected with the first wireless base station (20) by wireless and carries out a relay communication via the first wireless base station (20).  When the mobile station (2) under the relay station (10) carries out handover to the second wireless base station (30), the first wireless base station (20) transfers data which has not completely transmitted to the mobile station (2) to the second wireless base station (30) which is a handover destination by returning the data at the first wireless base station (20), thereby switching data transfer routes.
