TERMINAL, MULTIPOINT CONTROL UNIT, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMPLEMENTING HIGH DEFINITION MULTIPLE PICTURES

A terminal, multipoint control unit, system and method for implementing high definition multiple pictures are provided by the present invention. The method comprises the following steps: Multipoint Control Unit (MCU) calculates the format of the high definition video code stream according to the video conference control information, and sends the capability set which contains the format of high definition video code stream to the selected terminals; based on the format of the high definition video code stream in the capability set, the selected terminals encode the high definition video images and send the encoded high definition video code stream to MCU; according to the video conference control information, MCU combines the received high definition video code images into multiple images, obtains the high definition multi-picture video code stream images and sends them to the terminals attending the conference. With the present invention, the video encoding and decoding capability of MCU equipment does not need to be improved greatly to implement high definition multiple pictures in the multipoint conference.
