METHOD AND EQUIPMENT FOR TRANSMITTING MULTICAST CONTROL CHANNEL INFORMATION

A method and equipment for transmitting multicast control channel (MCCH) information are provided in the present invention. The method includes the following steps: during sending multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS), network side sends a notification message to a user equipment (UE) only at the beginning of every MBMS service session in order to notify the UE the beginning of the session; the UE reads the MCCH information after receiving the notification of the beginning of the session. The equipment includes network side equipment and UE. The method and equipment provided in the invention can substantially decrease the times of further reading the MCCH message on account of the UE being awoken falsely, and save the power of the UE.
