Provided are an apparatus (1) for evaluating optical properties of a three-dimensional display, and a method for evaluating optical properties of a three-dimensional display, which enable evaluation of optical properties without depending on types of the three-dimensional displays. An interocular luminance analyzing unit (30) generates a stereovision determination image by analyzing, based on a luminance distribution image, luminance perceived between the eyes of an observer. Thereafter, a stereovision determination unit (40) discriminates, based on this stereovision determination image, a region that can be viewed in stereovision. This configuration is applicable to any three-dimensional display regardless of a type thereof, which may be a two-eye type, a multi-eye type, an integral imaging type or the like. Therefore, the apparatus (1) for evaluating optical properties of a three-dimensional display, and the method for evaluating optical properties of a three-dimensional display make it possible to evaluate optical properties without depending on types of the three-dimensional displays. |
