A method and system for transmitting the information of the color ringback tone in package switch domain and color ringback tone server and terminal are disclosed by the present invention to provide description content of the color ringback tone media simply and quickly. Said method includes: the color ringback tone server sends the description content of the color ringback tone to the calling terminal via a message before or while sending the color ringback tone. After receiving said message, the terminal displays the description content of said color ringback tone while playing the color ringback tone.
