<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of changing an imaging interval on the basis of the degree of importance of an imaged event, and to provide an imaging apparatus with an interval imaging function. <P>SOLUTION: In this imaging apparatus, an object or scene important for a user is set by an importance degree setting section 16, and the degree of importance of an image captured by an imaging section 12 is determined by an importance degree determination section 18 with the important object or the important scene set by the importance degree setting section 16 as a reference.
